Job summary

Confidential Jobs is seeking a Cost Accountant to lead manufacturing cost analysis, maintain standard costing systems, and support monthly and annual close. This role partners with Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Finance to translate cost data into actionable business recommendations.

The incumbent will strengthen controls and drive cost improvements in a busy cost accounting environment. The position requires hands-on ERP experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field required.
• Five years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, including materials, labor and overhead.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and update standard costs as needed.
• Prepare cost variance analysis and report findings to management.
• Analyze product profitability and provide recommendations for cost reduction.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing related to inventory and COGS.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support cost reporting and analysis to inform production planning and decision-making.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controls.
