Job summary

The Management Trust in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our onsite team. Reporting to the Director of Club Operations, you will maintain the physical integrity, safety, and aesthetic of the community’s common areas, facilities, and shared amenities while engaging with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of advanced handyman, commercial facility upkeep, or residential property maintenance experience; HOA or master-planned community experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall; reading blueprints or technical manuals is a plus.
• Ability to diagnose issues, work independently, and determine whether repairs can be done in-house or require outside help.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with residents and management; professional and transparent communication.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Facility and Grounds Maintenance: perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on community recreational areas (clubhouses, pools/spas, sports courts).
• Carpentry & Painting: repair or install fencing, gates, and clubhouse interiors/exteriors.
• Light & Plumbing: troubleshoot and replace light fixtures, bulbs, and basic plumbing fixtures.
• Signage & Traffic Calming: install/maintain signage and assist with basic traffic equipment upkeep.
• Access Control Support: perform visual inspections of gates and call boxes; basic adjustments as needed.
• Equipment Management: safely operate and store tools and maintenance machinery.
• Inspections: conduct routine safety walkthroughs and identify repair needs or aesthetic concerns.
• Work Orders: maintain logs of tasks and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Event Management Support: set up and take-down for community events (tents, tables, chairs, etc.).
• Safety Adherence: follow OSHA standards and PPE requirements; keep pathways clear during repairs.
• Association Vehicle: drive and maintain the association truck; schedule oil changes and tire care.
