Job summary

Kinetic Personnel Group has teamed with an Irvine-based company to recruit a Logistics Coordinator. This onsite role focuses on managing daily transportation operations, carrier relationships, and freight execution in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong carrier sourcing, freight rate negotiation, and TMS/Excel proficiency, with 5+ years in freight brokerage or logistics. Experience in food distribution or 3PL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in freight brokerage, transportation operations, logistics coordination, dispatch, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience sourcing carriers and negotiating freight rates.
• Experience coordinating full truckload (FTL) shipments; refrigerated/temperature-controlled freight experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with load boards, carrier networks, and transportation management systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, changing priorities, and time-sensitive deadlines.
• Experience in food distribution, freight brokerage, or 3PL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and secure carrier capacity, obtain competitive freight quotes, and negotiate transportation rates.
• Coordinate full truckload (FTL), refrigerated, and other freight shipments from pickup through delivery.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries, monitor shipments, and communicate updates with carriers and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot delays, missed appointments, carrier cancellations, and other transportation issues.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, rate confirmations, bills of lading (BOLs), and proofs of delivery (PODs).
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and Excel to track shipments and maintain operational accuracy.
