Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Experience in logistics or shipping/receiving.
• Experience operating forklifts and shop equipment safely.
• Experience with inventory software and Microsoft applications.
• Ability to complete Wabtec Materials Certification Training within ~12 months.
• Flexibility to work in a shop environment and varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Our materials specialists work inside locomotive diesel repair shops located on the customer’s property, alongside management teams.
• This role requires continuous customer presence with a strong customer-centric focus and visible daily impact.
• Day-to-day tasks include pulling material from the warehouse, weekly stockouts, and daily cycle counts.
• Forecasting material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives and overseeing inbound/outbound quality controls.
• Use software to order, receive, ship, and track materials and read mechanical drawings for material IDs.
• Operate forklifts and perform daily shift inspections; assist with inventory reporting and warehouse upkeep.
