Job summary

Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our growing legal team in Buffalo, NY.

You will handle sophisticated civil matters across state and federal courts, including commercial disputes, contract enforcement, and business torts, with ownership from inception to trial and appeal. The role requires 4–7 years of civil litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a litigation docket while advising executives on strategy and risk.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4–7 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience handling matters in federal court strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial litigation and business disputes.
• Experience with or exposure to antitrust law is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of electronic discovery (e-discovery), including document review platforms, preservation obligations, and discovery strategy.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation docket while collaborating effectively with attorneys, executives, and business personnel.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other court filings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare strategic analyses.
• Coordinate and oversee e-discovery, document collection, and production.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses.
• Advise company leadership on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and legal developments.
• Assist with internal investigations and preservation of evidence.
• Support the company's continued growth through proactive legal counseling and enforcement of its contractual and business rights.
