Job summary

Marathon Special Products, a Regal Rexnord company, seeks a Design Engineer III to lead industrial electrical product design from concept to launch. You will own complex projects, translate VOC into robust designs, and work with cross‑functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product design or related technical role.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related field.
• Strong drafting and mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with product validation, testing, and design verification methods.
• Demonstrated success managing engineering projects, tracking milestones, and meeting project schedules.
• Ability to work independently and drive technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to independently troubleshoot design and application issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new products from concept through commercialization, ownership of complex projects.
• Translate VOC and application requirements into designs, specifications, and targets.
• Develop detailed engineering concepts and drawings for proposals, design reviews, and manufacturing.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments (DFMEA), and validation activities.
• Develop and validate prototypes, including test plans and design iterations.
• Lead and support agency compliance efforts (UL, CSA, IEC) including documentation.
• Lead pre-production builds, pilot runs, and validation testing for launches.
• Troubleshoot design, quality, and field issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement and post-launch enhancements via feedback and ECRs.
• Provide technical leadership to cross‑functional teams.
