Job summary

Propio Language Services in Worcester, MA is seeking qualified onsite contract interpreters for All Spoken Language to support healthcare, education, government and other settings.

You will provide consecutive interpretation, sometimes remote by phone or video, and must complete evaluations and maintain strict confidentiality including HIPAA. This independent contractor role requires travel to assignments and compliance with client requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proficiency in English and All Spoken Language.
• Ability to deliver accurate consecutive interpretation.
• Successful completion of interpretation proficiency evaluations.
• Résumé in English required during application.
• High school diploma or GED, per client credentialing standards.
• Ability to travel to accepted onsite assignments.
• Ability to meet health/immunization requirements where required by client/site.
• Background/fingerprint/drug screening may be required.
• One or more years of interpreting experience.
• Relevant interpreter training or credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language at onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client confidentiality, privacy, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements (HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA).
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge for assignments.
