Job summary

Marstel-Day, LLC seeks an onsite Planner in Oahu, HI to support compatible land use and military readiness initiatives around MCB Hawaii. The role involves formulating land use plans, coordinating outreach, and liaising with public and private partners to promote resilient communities.

The Planner will research encroachment factors, develop briefing materials, and assist with documentation for legislative and regulatory considerations. Occasional local travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in urban planning, landscape architecture, public administration, geography, natural resources conservation, communications, sustainability, or comparable field.
• 3+ years’ experience in collaborative planning and engagement with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Hawaii landscapes and culture.
• Knowledge of military services and the DoD.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare concise papers and briefing slides.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.

Responsibilities

• Support compatible land use initiatives around MCB Hawaii, aligning with military readiness.
• Formulate or review land use plans, outreach, record keeping, and monitoring local developments.
• Coordinate internal and external engagements with government, private, and non-profit partners.
• Develop communications materials and briefing documents on land use planning and partnerships.
• Travel occasionally within Hawaii (<10%).
• Assist with internal staff coordination for stakeholder engagement.
