Job summary

Kelly is seeking a detail-oriented Labeling Specialist in Carpinteria, CA, onsite, on a 6-month contract basis. The role supports labeling initiatives across product development, regulatory, quality, and marketing teams, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance of labels, IFUs, and electronic labeling systems.

The ideal candidate brings a graphic design background with strong documentation skills and experience with BarTender, SAP, and SolidWorks, plus knowledge of FDA and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience with BarTender, Librarian, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, MS Office and SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience in a regulated environment, preferably medical devices or quality-controlled industries.
• Familiarity with FDA requirements, ISO 13485, ISO 9001.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing technical information, labeling content, and controlled documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects to develop, revise, and maintain product labels, IFUs, and related labeling materials.
• Create and update label drawings and specifications using SolidWorks.
• Prepare and manage change control documentation, including drawings, overlays, and label data forms.
• Coordinate with translation vendors for quotes and support layout of translated labeling materials.
• Collaborate with suppliers to review label proofs and overlays for accuracy and quality.
• Work with designers, illustrators, and technical writers to maintain labeling standards.
• Develop Visual Quality Standards and labeling SOPs.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and coordinate related administrative activities.
• Manage labeling project timelines, competing priorities, and deadlines.
• Apply industry and regulatory requirements to labeling assignments.
• Support product-related training and stay current on labeling requirements.
• Troubleshoot BarTender/SAP interface and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
