Job summary

The McConnell Group is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to support a national defense research environment by preparing samples, performing diagnostic testing, and maintaining equipment and records.

Candidate must pass government background checks and maintain required security clearances. This onsite role requires a Monday–Friday schedule within a controlled access facility with strict safety and security regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires MS or BS in Life/Physical Sciences (4+ years).
• Experience with cell culture and viral/bacterial work.
• Knowledge of inventory records and sample processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab maintenance: clean workspaces and equipment, maintain water baths and incubators, restock inventory.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving with partners and provide weekly material lists.
• Input IT/service requests and provide quarterly reports.
• Support team with process improvements and operational efficiencies.
