Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Jr. Network Engineer to join our technology organization in RTP, NC, supporting an on-premises lab and certification environment. The role involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration with senior staff, with a path to own network and systems tasks over time.

Must have CCNA-level knowledge and 2+ years in related IT roles. This is a long-term contract to work onsite two days per week in RTP, with full benefits and a comprehensive compensation

Qualifications

• 2+ years in network engineering or IT infrastructure roles.
• CCNA-level knowledge with ability to troubleshoot switching and routing.
• Hands-on network maintenance, patching, cabling, and general IT support.
• Exposure to systems administration, OS security, and lab infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support network infrastructure in a shared on-premises lab for 30–50 users.
• Perform Layer 1 troubleshooting, patching, cabling, and infrastructure support.
• Troubleshoot network, OS, hardware, and connectivity issues across the lab.
