Job summary

The Timberline Group in Saint Peters, MO, is seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager to lead a Windows‑based, on‑premises environment. This onsite role reports to IT leadership and mentors engineers while driving day‑to‑day operations and strategic initiatives.

You will evaluate VMware, NetApp SAN, Veeam, and hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) for reliability, DR readiness, and scalable growth, championing standards, security, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering within Windows-based enterprise environments.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
• Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Experience with VMware vSphere environments and NetApp SAN storage.
• Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS in hybrid cloud.
• Strong ability to mentor engineers and lead infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Windows Server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and backups.
• Review, validate, and approve infrastructure deployments and configuration changes.
• Serve as escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and participate in high-impact deployments.
• Oversee the Windows Server ecosystem: AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services.
• Ensure patching, hardening, lifecycle management, and domain integrity standards.
• Manage and optimize VMware vSphere environments, including HA and DRS.
• Lead evaluation and planning for future virtualization initiatives, including Hyper-V considerations.
• Oversee NetApp SAN storage architecture and performance optimization.
• Ensure integrity of Veeam backup and replication systems, monitoring and validation.
• Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation; ensure RTO/RPO alignment.
• Provide governance of hybrid cloud environments (Azure and AWS) and security.
• Validate cloud deployments for security, redundancy, and cost efficiency.
• Establish infrastructure standards, documentation practices, and change management processes.
• Mentor Infrastructure Engineers and collaborate with security, application, and business teams.
