Job summary

Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco is seeking a full-time IPS Supported Employment specialist to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment. The role emphasizes strong employer relations and requires substantial community presence to support job development and job search activities.

In-person work at ECS program locations is required. The position demands experience with mental health, homelessness, and related challenges, plus the ability to work effectively

Qualifications

• Undergraduate education in mental health, social services, or business with relevant experience.
• Experience working with individuals who may have homelessness, mental illness, or substance use challenges is preferred.
• Experience delivering employment services and knowledge of the job market are advantageous.
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team is essential.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients and build trusting relationships to support competitive employment.
• Assess clients' vocational skills and preferences; discuss disclosure with employers when appropriate.
• Develop individualized employment/education plans with input from the client and care team.
• Spend 65% or more of work time in the community to support job development.
• Facilitate meetings with employers and educational staff to explore opportunities.
• Conduct job development and job search activities aligned with IPS principles.
• Maintain regular employer contacts to understand business needs and client fit.
