Job summary

Affinity Executive Search is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder in Las Vegas, NV to lead the accurate coding of inpatient medical records and support revenue integrity in an acute-care setting.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience, be CCS/RHIA/RHIT certified, and possess expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and MS-DRG workflows with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience in an acute-care hospital setting.
• CCS/RHIA/RHIT certification required.
• Strong knowledge of inpatient coding guidelines and reimbursement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code and abstract inpatient medical records while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Review documentation for completeness and coding accuracy; identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
• Review coding-related denials and perform appropriate follow-up; run queries and prepare reports.
• Utilize 3M 360 or similar encoder/CAC systems and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Communicate issues and recommendations to stakeholders and work across departments.
