Job summary

Requirements include high school diploma, 3 years inpatient coding in acute care, and CCS/RHIA/RHIT options. Proficiency with CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM/PCS, and MS-DRG classification is expected. This role involves 40 hours weekly with a 5x8 rotating shift.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; three years inpatient coding experience.
• Certification options include CCS, RHIA or RHIT as applicable.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9-CM, ICD10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG rules.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient coding of medical records for research, utilization and reimbursement.
• Identify coding opportunities and report discrepancies to management.
• Maintain accuracy and productivity per department standards.
