Job summary

Indiana University is seeking an onsite cybersecurity specialist for the SecureMyResearch team in Bloomington, IN. The role combines security analysis, lifecycle support, and educational outreach to reduce administrative and technical burdens on research teams.

You will work with researchers to translate requirements into secure practices, perform case intake, and support incident response and disaster recovery efforts while promoting practical cybersecurity education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
• 2+ years of information security or related experience.
• Proficient communication and professionalism.
• Time management and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with researchers and partners to understand goals, needs, and obligations.
• Translate technical, policy, contractual, and regulatory requirements into cybersecurity approaches.
• Perform case intake and triage, respond to cases promptly.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance throughout the research lifecycle.
