Indiana University Bloomington's UITS Research Software Solutions unit seeks an experienced software analyst to advance the design, deployment, and support of research systems, including secure enclaves. The role emphasizes reproducible code and robust CI infrastructure.

The position provides advanced analysis and programming, leads in developing well-engineered software for research productivity, and collaborates with researchers and data-center partners to maintain high standards of quality

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years in systems programming/analysis.
• Strong communication and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced analysis and programming related to the design, development, and support of research systems.
• Acts as lead in the development and implementation of well-engineered software to support research productivity and reliability; evolves software development and data services with research to ensure reproducible code.
• Leads operation, monitoring, and maintenance of CI systems (storage, cluster computing, databases, VMs, networks).
• Provides advanced consultation with researchers to enable computing capabilities and co-create solutions.
• Connects researchers with technology providers and communicates with software/data professionals.
• Engages researchers through support requests and develops best-practice documentation and procedures.
• Supports collaboration with researchers and IT/data center partners.
• Builds relationships across CI teams to support researchers’ needs promptly.
• Enhances learning with awareness of local computing and data landscape.
• Identifies education opportunities and contributes to training for CI usage.
• Contributes to grant proposals led by CI professionals or faculty.
