Actalent in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Project Superintendent to oversee all phases of industrial construction, from planning to completion. You will study specifications, develop procedures, staffing plans, and coordinate diverse teams on site.

Lead safety and quality on heavy industrial projects, manage subcontractors and inspectors, and drive continuous improvement in methods and project execution. Onsite role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 410 years of experience with metal building and concrete construction.
• Strong industrial construction background in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with steel erection and concrete construction in industrial settings.
• Proven construction supervision experience, including directing crews and coordinating multiple phases of work.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction specifications and project documents.
• Plan and manage construction schedules, staffing, and resource allocation across multiple project phases.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and supervisory personnel to prevent delays and maintain quality.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing supervisory and non-supervisory employees.
• Solid understanding of OSHA safety rules and enforcing safety policies on site.
• Current valid drivers license.
• Ability to work in loud, dirty industrial environments while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
• Commercial construction experience with metal buildings is beneficial when combined with industrial construction expertise.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing facilities and heavy industrial environments.
• CDL preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Certified Crane Operator credentials preferred.
• Ability to prepare and review detailed progress, cost, and material reports and adjust schedules.
• Strong communication with inspectors, suppliers, project management, and company representatives.
• Mentorship capabilities for subordinates.
• Experience conducting performance evaluations and administering rewards and disciplinary actions.
• Comfort with using laptops, tablets, and mobile phones for reporting and communication.

Responsabilités

• Review project specifications to plan construction procedures and staffing for each phase.
• Assemble and organize supervisory, clerical, engineering, and field workers at project start.
• Coordinate procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to meet schedules.
• Direct and confer with supervisory personnel and subcontractors on work procedures and timelines.
• Collaborate with supervisors and company reps to address workforce complaints promptly.
• Work with inspectors and suppliers to resolve problems and improve methods.
• Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship meets specs and schedules.
• Prepare or review progress reports and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Direct workers in major maintenance or reconditioning projects to ensure safety and quality.
• Prepare payroll, per diem, daily reports, safety rosters, and project paperwork.
• Enforce OSHA safety rules and company safety policies on site.
• Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and mentoring to subordinate supervisors and crew members.
• Partner with HR to hire/transfer employees to meet staffing needs.
• Manage disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and pay adjustments as appropriate.
• Lead onsite activities at industrial facilities to ensure safe and efficient work.
