Job summary

Alpha School in Dorado, Puerto Rico is seeking a Reading Interventionist to lead AI-accelerated workshops for K-2, delivering phonics, fluency, and comprehension instruction. You will design motivating sessions, analyze progress data, and collaborate with engineers to refine AI tools.

Requires a Bachelor's plus a Master’s or structured literacy certification, 2+ years of K-2 experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and on-site work in Dorado.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any subject; Master’s in reading instruction or a structured literacy certification such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent
• 2+ years of recent, full-time K-2 structured reading instruction in a school or clinical setting using systematic phonics or structured literacy
• Fluency in English and Spanish; ability to analyze assessments and differentiate instruction without scripted curricula
• Proficient with AI or adaptive learning tools and able to interpret student performance data
• Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico and willingness to work on-site in Dorado

Responsibilities

• Deliver adaptive reading workshops building phonics, comprehension, and fluency
• Design personalized motivational sessions using gamified literacy milestones
• Analyze student progress data to refine instruction and surface actionable insights
• Collaborate with engineers to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on classroom results
• Develop scalable, AI-enhanced content enabling K-2 students to reach grade-level proficiency
