Job summary

UL Solutions in Plano, TX seeks a skilled HVAC technician for an onsite, full-time role on the 2nd shift. You will set up and test equipment, adapt test setups, read blueprints and datasheets, and communicate with clients to ensure proper evaluation of test results.

Applicants should have HVAC training or a 2-year degree, Universal EPA certification, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude with proficiency in MS Office. Prior installation or testing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC vocational training or 2-year degree required.
• Universal EPA certification required.
• Prior HVAC installation, repair, or testing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good communication skills.
• Ability to work one of the above shifts (2nd shift).

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform equipment and test setups for clients.
• Build/adapt test equipment for performance of tests.
• Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and instruction manuals.
• Follow defined test plans and datasheets.
• Record and report test results clearly.
• Direct staff in test setups when needed.
• Coordinate with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic calibration of test equipment.
