Job summary

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit an HR Specialist to join their team in Minnesota. This hands-on role supports employees and leaders with day-to-day HR questions, processes, and workplace needs, onsite at the facility.

The HR Specialist will lead leave of absence and workers’ compensation administration while also supporting onboarding, employee relations, and the overall employee experience. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of Human Resources experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply HR policies effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication with professional demeanor.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and systems-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead leave of absence and workers’ compensation administration, including supporting employees with claims and monitoring status.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation and employee relations matters, escalating complex issues when needed.
• Support onboarding and new hire check-ins, and maintain ongoing employee touchpoints.
• Assist with unemployment processes and respond to claims or appeals when requested.
• Participate in weekly/monthly reporting and ensure HR records are accurate.
• Support wellness, culture, and HR process improvements across the site.
