Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled facility maintenance technician to coordinate and perform installation, inspection, testing, preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC and related systems across our hospital facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid trade license, and at least two years of commercial maintenance experience; day shift, onsite, with safety focus and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Licensed in respective trade by State Department of Labor.
• 2 years’ experience in selected trade in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities

• Gathers necessary information and coordinates projects relating to Community Hospital facility/equipment repairs and improvements.
• Performs installation, maintenance and repairs on Community Hospital facility, equipment and systems, as needed, and as determined competent.
• Performs preventive maintenance, inspections and instrument readings on equipment, machines, systems and facility, as assigned, and as determined competent.
• Provides for the safety of self and others.
• Promotes positive relations.
• Uses and maintains equipment, tools, materials and supplies.
• Documents work actions and provides support for administrative functions to include, but not limited to: Maintains logs, records and reports pertaining to work orders and actions, Participates in monitoring inventories of parts, supplies and chemicals, Estimates material requirements necessary for supplies and equipment, Obtains prices and orders parts.
