Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to join the Plant Maintenance team. The role covers installation, inspection, testing, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, boiler, fire detection, mechanical and HVAC systems.

The position also involves basic carpentry, painting and general maintenance of facilities and equipment, with a per diem work type and onsite schedule. High school grad and 1 year related experience required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 1 year of experience in Operations-Mechanic or equivalent experience in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities

• Corrective Maintenance – perform work to correct damaged equipment or a facility component within 24 hours.
• Emergency Maintenance – respond to outages or issues to prevent harm or damage to people or property.
• Other Duties as Assigned – exterior maintenance, cleaning mechanical rooms, landscaping, transporting equipment.
• Scheduled Maintenance – use CMMS to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generators, signage, and hardware.
• Service Request Maintenance – perform non-emergency tasks prioritized by Work Control.
