North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a maintenance technician to perform general repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC and facility systems. You will diagnose issues, coordinate with outside contractors when needed, and help keep hospital operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least a year of maintenance experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of general maintenance, electrical, and plumbing experience preferred.
• Current and active driver's license with a clean record.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Provides general repairs as needed within the hospital.
• Follows safe practices in the use of electricity.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, water, gas, HVAC and other essential systems.
• Responds timely to issues and coordinates outside contractors when needed.
• Moves furniture and equipment around the hospital.
• Delivers supplies and supports courier services as needed.
• Drives patients via hospital van to nearby facilities.
• Adheres to hospital policies and confidentiality.
• Maintains safe handling of chemicals and reports hazards.
• Performs duties within scope and follows chain of command.
