Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a on-site Hazardous Waste Technician to assist in collection, packaging, and labeling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites. You will participate in spill response and ensure safe loading of waste hauling vehicles, with forklift operation and drum inspections as part of daily duties.

Successful candidates will complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire and may need a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Ability to operate heavy and light equipment including forklift and pallet-jack.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups throughout a customer's facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Participate in spill response on the customer's site as needed.
• Operate forklifts.
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
