Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental in Wilton, CT, seeks an Environmental Specialist (1st Shift) to support on-site hazardous-waste programs. The role reports to the Assistant Program Manager and runs 6:00am–2:30pm daily at client locations, with work managed from our Astoria, NY office.

Responsibilities include OSHA compliance, waste preparation and documentation, site safety inspections, and on-call emergency response. A 2–3 year advancement path in hazardous waste management is available and required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the hazardous-waste industry or relevant military experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and implement solutions.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours.
• Must be able to report to client location within 1 hour during emergencies.
• Valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must lift up to 60 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Understand OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
• Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and dispose; manage paperwork.
• Safely handle hazardous waste containers at client sites and load/unload waste.
• Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
• Occasionally perform EHS audits for clients.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and innovative solutions to clients.
• Develop regulatory expertise to ensure client compliance (RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
• Conduct spill response measures and cleanup assessments.
• Rotating on-call responsibilities for Emergency Response.
