Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental in Newington, CT is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support our Lab & Onsite Support Services team, managing hazardous waste programs at client sites and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role emphasizes problem solving, strong communication, and hands-on safety practices.

You will work with clients to meet RCRA, DOT, and OSHA requirements, perform spill response activities, and participate in an optional Emergency Response rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry.
• Ability to work in a team or individually.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and develop solutions.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class C & hazmat endorsement.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
• Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including all necessary paperwork.
• Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites and manage loading/unloading.
• Conduct safety equipment inspections and hazardous waste inspections.
• Occasionally perform Environmental Health and Safety audits for clients.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and innovative solutions to clients.
• Develop regulatory expertise to ensure client compliance (RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
• Conduct spill response assessments and cleanup efforts.
• Participate in Emergency Response on-call rotations (optional).
