Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Patient Account Representative for our Birmingham, AL onsite team. This role focuses on billing processes, follow-up, account resolution, and scanning to support departmental goals and ensure timely payments.

You will work with payers and guarantors, log detailed notes within 24 hours, and review remittance advice to determine required actions. A High School Diploma/GED and 0–2 years in office or healthcare are required; MS Word and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years in office, customer service or healthcare field.
• Experience in Revenue Cycle or Medicaid is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient account billing and AR follow-up.
• Contact payers and guarantors to resolve balances.
• Submit appeals for non-clinical denials when needed.
• Document actions in the client system within 24 hours.
