Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is assisting a client in the construction industry by seeking an Assistant GIS Specialist for a 12+ month contract in Akron, OH. This onsite role focuses on GIS analysis, data development, and mapping support for multiple projects.

The ideal candidate holds a GIS degree and is proficient with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, with Python scripting and data management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with teams are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or closely related field.
GIS Professional (GISP) certification or ESRI technical certification preferred but not required.
Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with GIS analysis, data development, data collection, and mapping for client projects.
Assist with GIS metadata creation, digital feature extraction, land survey record searches, and ownership data research.
Assist with coordinate system projections and geospatial data transformations for project deliverables.
Assist in creating and updating GIS maps, map layers, and geospatial databases.
Assist with georeferencing raster and vector datasets.
Support ad-hoc analyses and provide recommendations to help achieve business goals.
Assist with QA/QC of GIS deliverables to ensure client requirements.
Utilize MS Teams, Excel, deeds, field notes and other docs to develop GIS maps.
Regularly communicate project status with teams and clients.
Ensure compliance with safety policies and perform other duties.
