Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to analyze malfunctions, repair and maintain fossil fuel engine generator sets on site in Annaolis Junction, MD. You will inspect equipment, replace subassemblies, test performance, and monitor fuel storage operations to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires 5 years of relevant experience, MD Class A/B Fuel Operator certification (or within 90 days), and ability to lift 50 lbs with occasional team lifts. U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years in electrical/electronic service for fossil fuel engines.
• Maryland Class A and B Fuel Operator Certification or obtain within 90 days.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and team lift 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical/electronic maintenance on fossil fuel engine generator sets, including troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and installation.
• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance and service calls on equipment.
• Provides preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and field modification.
• Plays tour of fuel storage tanks and responds to fuel alarms.
• Interprets wiring diagrams to locate faults and plans work from blueprints and instructions.
• Operates hand tools, portable power tools, and measuring instruments; ensures deadlines are met.]
• Coordinates with personnel for materials and parts requisitions.
• Performs stock inventories and maintains warehouse space.
