Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for on-site work in Annaolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on diagnosing malfunctions, repairing and maintaining fossil fuel fired engine generator sets, and servicing fuel storage tanks.

The position requires five years of relevant experience, state certifications, and the ability to obtain security clearance. Onsite paid model and competitive compensation are provided.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• Five years of experience in the electrical/electronic service and maintenance trade, specifically working with fossil fuel fired engine generator sets.
• Maryland Class A and Class B Fuel Operator Certification or acquire certificate within ninety days of hire.
• Ability to work flexible work schedule including weekends.
• Valid state driver's license with suitable driving record.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical/electronic maintenance on fossil fuel fired engine generator sets, including troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and installation.
• Schedules and performs preventative maintenance and service calls on equipment.
• Provides preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and/or field modification.
• Performs tours of fuel storage tanks and responds to fuel alarms.
• Interprets wiring diagrams to locate failures.
• Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, and instructions.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Plans, organizes work, and meets deadlines.
• Operates company and customer owned vehicles and equipment.
