Job summary

TRAC Recruiting, Inc. seeks a General Manager (Onsite) just outside Chicago, IL to lead a fast-growing home services partner. The role covers installation, service, repair, sales, customer experience, and administrative functions with full P&L ownership and end-to-end accountability.

You will drive profitability, people development, and a data-driven operating cadence in a PE-backed environment, balancing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction across office, field, and shop floors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience running a business unit or multi-site operation in home services or related fields.
• Experience with P&L ownership including revenue and profitability.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and performance management skills.
• Ability to lead managers, scale teams, and drive growth and margin improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own full brand-level P&L including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and EBITDA.
• Oversee day-to-day operations across service, installation, repair, dispatch, scheduling, warehousing, and inventory.
• Lead the business to profitable growth in sales and revenue quality, not just volume.
• Develop and lead a leadership team across operations, field, office, and support functions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, state licensing, and local requirements.
• Collaborate on long-term growth, strategic planning, and scaling initiatives.
• Manage annual budgets, forecasts, and operating plans with leadership.
• Improve unit economics, including margins, labor productivity, and cost structure.
• Drive a structured business cadence with weekly KPI reviews and monthly financial reviews.
• Establish pricing discipline and focus on supplier and capacity optimization.
• Build a culture with high standards, performance-driven, and continuous improvement.
