Job summary

National Grid plc in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Supervisor (Gas Field Operations) to lead a 10–15 person field crew, ensure safety and reliability of the gas distribution system, and oversee 24/7 operations. You will drive regulatory compliance, manage budgets and purchasing, coach staff, build strong stakeholder relationships, and coordinate emergency responses to deliver high-quality gas service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or 5+ years of experience in Gas Field Operations.
• Proven leadership experience directing field operations teams.
• Ability to develop standard operating procedures for gas work.
• Working knowledge of information systems for work management and reporting.
• Willingness to travel overnight and hold a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 10-15 operations personnel to meet work plans within budget.
• Provide emergency response oversight for 24/7 operations.
• Coach and develop a culturally diverse workforce.
• Ensure safety standards compliance and safe working environment.
• Coordinate workload and approve area purchase orders, invoices, payroll.
• Build relationships with internal/external customers and stakeholders.
• Manage performance and address attendance and discipline issues.
