Job summary

MP Materials Corp. in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting to oversee real-time asset capitalization, depreciation, and SOX controls in a hands-on finance role embedded with operations.

You will lead the Fixed Asset Team, partner with operations and project management, and drive improvements in asset accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance for capital projects and fixed assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in fixed asset accounting, asset management, or related fields.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build cross-functional partnerships with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and site leadership.
• Identify and implement improvements to Fixed Asset processes across Finance and Operations.
• Oversee tracking, recording, and capitalization of project costs and assets.
• Manage routine fixed asset observations and dispose ghost assets when needed.
• Monitor spend against capital budgets and report variances to leaders.
• Strengthen SOX controls around project authorization and spend approvals.
• Ensure adherence to company policies for project and asset accounting.
• Lead and direct the Fixed Asset Team with coaching and performance reviews.
• Prepare Fixed Asset schedules for monthly close and reporting.
• Review ARO calculations and track asset costs.
• Reconcile Fixed Asset accounts and roll-forward schedules.
• Oversee depreciation runs, disposals, and project closeout activities.
• Support enterprise reporting needs and system/process improvements.
• Maintain compliance with company reporting and documentation standards.
