Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Elyria, OH is seeking a Field Service Technician – Onsite. You’ll troubleshoot, maintain, modify and repair Nelson Stud Welding systems and customer equipment, supported by a fleet program and comprehensive benefits.

The role requires an Associate degree or 6–12 months related experience, comfort with three-phase power, ability to read technical documents and to communicate with customers, and about 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 6–12 months related experience.
• Experience with high voltage electro-mechanical systems (three-phase power).
• Ability to read, write and interpret complex technical documents, including electrical schematics.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair Nelson Stud Welding systems, including power sources, accessories and field diesel units.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment.
• Assist customers in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
• Assist sales representatives with equipment, accessory and technical problems.
• Perform in-house training and demonstrations for both internal and external customers.
• Weld samples for sales representatives and customers.
