SLSCO Ltd. Federal Services Division is seeking a Field Safety Specialist for a federal design-build infrastructure project in the Laredo, Texas area.

This field-based role supports the SSHO and field leadership by identifying hazards, conducting training, tracking corrective actions, and maintaining safety records to keep work sites compliant. Ideal candidates will have extensive construction safety experience, strong communication skills, OSHA 30 hours, EM 385-1-1 knowledge, and the ability to

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5 years of construction field safety experience.
• Experience supporting safety on federal construction projects preferred; SSHO designation not required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training required; EM 385-1-1 training preferred.
• Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA construction requirements.
• Experience with AHAs, inspections, corrective-action tracking, and common construction hazards.

Aufgaben

• Support implementation of the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and AHAs under the SSHO direction.
• Report to the SSHO and coordinate with field supervision, subcontractors, and project team.
• Participate in pre-work meetings and communicate upcoming hazards and controls.
• Observe subcontractor work for conformance with AHAs and project procedures.
• Assist with site orientations, toolbox talks, and training; maintain attendance and training records.
• Apply EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards in daily field observations and raise compliance concerns.
• Assist with incident investigations and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Enter observations into the project tracking system and verify closure with SSHO.
• Conduct routine field inspections and pause work for imminent danger; notify SSHO and supervision.
• Assist in preparing AHAs and ensuring crews understand controls before work begins.
• Maintain safety files, inspection records, and training materials; support coordination among safety personnel.
