Job summary

Genex Systems is seeking an entry level or intermediate GIS Specialist to support NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will assist field data collection from cradle to grave, collaborating with the Team Lead and GIS Analysts on data throughout JSC.

The position is onsite at NASA JSC and requires daily on-site work. Responsibilities include using field survey tools, ESRI software, AutoCAD, and MS Office to collect, process, and manage geospatial data for

Qualifications

Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with multitasking.
Preferred associate degree in surveying/environmental science or similar.

Responsibilities

Use field survey hardware and software to collect data points, lines, polygons and attributes.
Provide recommendations for data collection methods.
Utilize ESRI software to process data according to project needs.
Work independently and with a team on field data collection.
Field verify Facility Housing Plans (FHP).
Perform field data collection with minimal supervision.
Develop and update GIS feature data from various sources.
Support customer requests for maps, data, CAD files, and other products.
Represent the team professionally on JSC as a Field Technician.
