Job summary

PACK Power LLC is seeking a field inspector responsible for monitoring substation construction, ensuring compliance with specs, drawings and safety policies onsite in Farmington, NM.

The role involves mentoring craft staff, maintaining logs, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with project teams; a degree in CM/engineering is preferred and per diem plus a vehicle allowance accompany base salary.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
• Follow safety rules and adhere to quality control processes.
• Write daily reports and document project activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Oversee daily substation construction activities and inspect work quality.
• Verify construction aligns with design documents and review inspection reports.
• Maintain logs for materials, testing, concrete, and non-conformances.
• Manage submittals and ensure materials match specs and schedules.
• Perform basic surveying and verify line, grade, and dimensions.
• Record daily progress and address deficiencies promptly.
• Document approved field changes and maintain red-line drawings.
• Coordinate with client quality staff to meet QA/QC standards.
• Compile operations and maintenance manuals with key contacts.
• Support punch list inspections and verify testing equipment calibration.
• Collaborate with project managers and estimators on planning.
