Job summary

Apollo Mechanical Contractors is seeking an onsite Project / Field Engineer to support large-scale mission critical data center work in the New Carlisle/South Bend area. You will coordinate mechanical, piping, HVAC, electrical, controls, testing and turnover activities, interfacing with project management, subs, vendors and clients.

The role requires 1–3 years as a Project/Field Engineer or 3–5 years in related construction, strong reading of drawings, RFIs and submittals, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience considered.
• 1–3 years as Project Engineer or Field Engineer, or 3–5 years in mechanical, piping, electrical, or data center construction.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, submittals, and schedules.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, change management, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, changes, field reports, and turnover records.
• Review drawings, specs, shop drawings, and coordination models for constructability.
• Coordinate multiple trades and interfaces with management, subs, vendors, and clients.
• Support BIM/VDC and multi-trade coordination for data halls and utility spaces.
• Track procurement, fabrication, deliveries, and installation readiness to support schedule.
• Maintain logs for equipment, testing, punch lists, and turnover.
• Assist with estimates, budgets, and cost tracking.
• Participate in safety, quality, schedule, and commissioning meetings; document decisions.
