Job summary

GE HealthCare in Wisconsin is seeking a Field Engineer I to perform on‑time preventive maintenance across multiple modalities. This role requires learning installations, FMIs, and basic troubleshooting while delivering service excellence at customer sites.

The candidate will work with experienced engineers on installations and repairs, communicate effectively with customers, and help identify value‑added services to support the customer’s operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participant in GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 4 or more years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
• Experience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of products.
• Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post‑offer drug test.
• During employment, comply with customer access policies and background checks (including federal government checks if contract support).
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to be available after hours or on-Call weekends, and occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete on-time and accurate Installations, Preventative Maintenance, FMIs and/or corrective repairs.
• Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installation.
• Work with experienced field engineers on basic troubleshooting and service repair needs on designated equipment.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers to ensure resolution and follow-up.
