Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer to lead fiber builds across the DuPage market, overseeing contractor performance and driving projects from readiness to closeout. You will ensure safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget control while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in fiber/telecom construction, strong project management skills, and experience with Sitetracker or Smartsheet, plus a valid driver’s license for travel within the

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecommunications engineering, network deployment, or related field operations.
• Strong knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction including OSHA/NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and multiple active construction projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication/relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress with timely updates to stakeholders.
• Inspect active jobsites to ensure compliance with OSHA, NESC, Lumos standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies.
