Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum is seeking an onsite Facilities Engineer in Kalamazoo, MI to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could impact plant operations. You will collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and external partners to ensure reliability of critical systems such as Water Cooling, HVAC, and Fire suppression.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Engineering or 5+ years of facility systems experience; Master Electrician is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or a minimum of five (5) years of experience with industrial facility systems is required.
Master Electrician License a plus.
Working PC skills including Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, AutoCAD, Maximo.

Responsibilities

Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could affect plant or business operations.
Work with maintenance, engineering, and 3rd parties to ensure reliability and maintainability of installations (Water Cooling, HVAC, Compressed Air, Fire suppression, etc).
Develop solutions to reduce losses from repetitive failures affecting plant operations (capacity, quality, cost, regulatory compliance).
Apply RCA/RCFA and FRACAS to investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
Analyze asset performance (utilization, remaining useful life, operating costs) and monitor assets.
Apply value analysis to repair/replace and buy/ make decisions.
Track utility spend with CI mindset for plant cost reductions and provide on-site training.
