Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manager, Facilities Infrastructure based in Starbase, TX. The role leads a diverse technician team responsible for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building control systems across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will have a High school diploma plus 3+ years in construction, facility maintenance, or HVAC, with a preferred Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of experience in construction, facility maintenance, or HVAC systems and controls.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of building management and HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex problems to diverse audiences.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience overseeing projects, timelines, and coordination with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse team of technicians to ensure zero unplanned interruptions in services.
• Manage scheduling and forecasting, career development, and safety/ reliability controls.
• Plan, resource, and execute projects based on operational needs to improve efficiency.
• Review work instructions and outcomes to improve processes and execution.
• Assess resource needs and manage support projects and lifecycle costs.
• Oversee contractors for on-site maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, building controls and water systems.
• Develop priorities and strategies for large repairs or replacements.
• Track KPIs including safety, quality, labor trends, and operating expenses for leadership.
• Provide on-call 24/7 support for facility troubleshooting or emergency repairs.
