Job summary

EPMA is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support defense and aerospace facilities programs. The role offers onsite work in Columbus, OH or Detroit, MI, with ~25% travel and U.S. work authorization required.

The engineer will provide technical guidance across facility operations, infrastructure, and real property management, while overseeing contractors and maintaining regulatory compliance. Strong communication and reporting skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required due to defense and aerospace sectors.
• Bachelor's in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in engineering consulting, facilities engineering, or client-facing technical environments.
• Experience as COR or providing contractor oversight is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of real property regulations, easements, permits, rights-of-way, and land-use agreements.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise to improve facility operations, maintenance programs, and real property management.
• Develop technical recommendations to support manufacturing optimization, cost reduction, and facility performance.
• Act as an owner's representative for facility-related programs, overseeing contractor planning, development, maintenance, and property disposition.
• Evaluate contractor performance against cost, schedule, quality, and compliance requirements.
• Apply project management principles to plan, coordinate, and execute facility-related projects.
• Review and verify contractor deliverables, including reports, inspections, engineering findings, and operational data.
