Job summary

VSP Vision in Louisville, KY seeks a Direct Lab Supervisor to lead our lab operations and deliver eyewear accurately to prescriptions, on time, and in accordance with our 7 Point Quality Verification and ANSI standards.

The role requires calibrating and maintaining lab equipment, managing inventory, and scheduling staff while coaching associates under the guidance of the General Manager. Emphasizes HIPAA compliance, safety, and company culture.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
• 1–5 years of related experience required.
• Must meet all Lab Certification requirements.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Favorable result on Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Routinely verify all customer options are delivered as promised.
• Assist in recruiting, selecting and training lab associates on equipment and Lab Certification steps.
• Ensure lab equipment is calibrated and maintained; manage inventory and expenses within budget.
• Communicate and work with store goals with lab team; routinely check work orders.
• Control inventory shrinkage by monitoring breakage, defects, receipts, and supplies.
• Schedule lab staff in compliance with payroll guidelines and demand.
• Coach/feedback sessions with lab staff with GM/DTM support.
• Follow Hazardous Communication Policy; ensure safe handling and waste disposal.
• May supervise store operations in absence of Retail Supervisor/GM.
• Promote company culture and Code of Business Conduct.
