Job summary

Howard CDM, a Southern California-based commercial construction and development company, seeks an Estimating Coordinator to support Preconstruction and Estimating. You will coordinate bid opportunities, manage bid documentation, and communicate with subcontractors and vendors to assist with bids and pricing.

The role requires 2-3 years in construction estimating or related fields, proficiency with MS Office, and experience with Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, bid coordination, or a related construction role.
• Previous experience supporting commercial construction estimating or bidding is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Bluebeam and/or construction bidding software preferred.
• Ability to read and navigate construction drawings, specifications, project manuals, and bid documents.
• Experience performing or assisting with material quantity takeoffs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and coordination support to the Preconstruction and Estimating Department.
• Research new bid opportunities and maintain and update the bid list.
• Maintain the Job Walk Calendar, Bid Calendar, and Project Tracker.
• Assign proposal numbers to new bid opportunities.
• Secure and organize bid documents, plans, specifications, and project information.
• Create and maintain proposal folders, ensuring current plans, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents are properly organized.
• Read, interpret, and understand contract drawings and specifications, project manuals, and bid package information.
• Assist in the preparation of project estimates, requests for proposals, and budgets.
• Prepare bid forms and associated documents required for bid submissions.
• Finalize and distribute formal post-bid reports.
