Job summary

GenScript USA Inc./ProBio Inc. in Piscataway, NJ, is seeking an Equipment Engineer to maintain and repair laboratory and production equipment onsite.

You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting, keeping detailed records for compliance and reliability. The role requires coordination with OEMs/service providers, CMMS management, and collaboration with Quality and Production teams to ensure uptime and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years equipment engineering/maintenance experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment preferred.
• Experience with CMMS or similar work order systems to document work.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration on lab and production equipment, documenting results.
• Diagnose equipment failures, perform repairs, verify performance and coordinate return to service with users and Quality.
• Support a range of instruments (e.g., HPLC systems, centrifuges, thermocyclers) and general lab equipment.
• Determine when to outsource work to OEM/service providers; coordinate vendor visits and oversee work on site.
• Create and maintain CMMS work orders; track maintenance, calibration, and asset history; manage spares.
