Job summary

Intel is seeking an Experienced Hire for the role of Electric Power Systems Engineer in Santa Clara, CA. The candidate will own the site's electrical operations and distribution system, coordinating maintenance using Maximo and leading outage responses.

They will model the distribution network, perform arc flash studies, and monitor power usage with PME and ION tools, while guiding cross-functional teams on major electrical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with 3+ years in MV/LV power systems.
• Knowledge of low and medium voltage distribution systems including transformers, substations, gens, and UPS.
• Experience with protective device coordination studies and load flow analysis.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Act as Intel's System Owner of the site's electrical operations and distribution system.
• Coordinate and document maintenance using Maximo and ensure outages are planned and recovered.
• Lead response to site electrical power outage disturbances and recovery.
• Model distribution system, troubleshoot, coordinate breakers, and perform arc flash studies with EasyPower.
• Track and analyze electrical usage with PME and ION monitoring software.
• Deliver improvements, lead 3rd party work, and ensure qualified personnel only work on equipment.
• Develop and approve electrical specs and maintenance procedures for power supplies and UPS.
• Ensure KPIs for quality and reliability of electrical systems.
• Monitor trends, forecast capacity, and manage spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with utilities and cross-site teams on projects and upgrades.
• Review and approve electrical designs for facilities, ensuring NEC compliance.
