Silgan Containers in Lancaster, SC, seeks an Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing operations by developing and debugging automated production equipment and controls. You will mentor electricians, lead troubleshooting, and drive line efficiency enhancements.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical/mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience), 3+ years in manufacturing electrical work, and 2+ years with PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), HMIs, and servo/inverter drives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering; will consider experience in place of a degree.
• 3+ years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of PLC-based controls experience programming Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLCs, HMIs, Servo & Inverter drives.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, train, and assist plant electricians, line mechanics, and plant leadership by educating on debugging can-making equipment to protect quality and throughput.
• Develop and debug new products, production equipment, and manufacturing lines.
• Assist plants and OEM suppliers in identifying and debugging mechanical problems to improve line efficiencies and reduce injuries.
• Interface with Plant Management, Project Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering groups to accomplish tasks.
• Travel regularly to various production facilities and equipment vendors as required.
