Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing operations by developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated production equipment and industrial control systems.

This role requires PLC programming, electrical controls, and manufacturing process improvement, and you will work with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance, product quality, safety, and production efficiency, with travel up to 25-30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of PLC-based controls experience programming Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLCs, HMIs, Servo & Inverter drives.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, servos, inverter drives, and PLC platforms (Allen Bradley).
• Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD experience.
• Willing to travel overnight up to 25-30%.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, train, and assist plant electricians, line mechanics, and leadership on rapid debugging to protect quality and throughput.
• Develop and debug new products, production equipment, and manufacturing lines.
• Assist plants and OEMs in identifying and debugging production problems to improve line efficiency and reduce injuries.
• Interface with Plant Management and Engineering groups to accomplish tasks.
• Travel to multiple production facilities and equipment vendors as needed.
